This is a report on the translation of Chapter 22 Remote Interpreting taken from The Routledge Handbook of Interpreting by Holly Mikkleson and Renée Jourdenais.The selected chapter,written by Professor Sabine Braun,includes researches on remote interpreting in different fields,issues encountered and future directions.Under the guidance of Nida's Functional Equivalence,the author followed these steps during the translation process: analyzing the source text,transferring from the source language to target language,restructuring sentence structure and reviewing and revising the translated text.The author used some translation techniques to deliver a target text,hoping to reserve as much accuracy as possible and provide experiences for her future translation of informative works.This report consists of project description,process description,case analysis and conclusion,among which the third one comes to the fore.It is about the translation difficulties and the techniques adopted.The last part concludes with the lessons,implication and unsolved problems in the translation project. |
