Research On The Influence Of Middle-Intensity Latin Dance Training On Physical Fitness And Physical Self-Esteem Of Female College Students

In recent years,as a kind of fashionable sports,Latin dance has gradually come into the elective classroom of public sports in our university,and it has been quite popular with college students,especially female college students.Latin dance can debug tense mood,pleasure,relieve fatigue,eliminate the psychological barriers,and improve body flexibility.Long-term Latin dance can modify the hip and waist curves of female college students,correct the body posture directly,improve their awareness of beauty in movement and the pursuit to beauty,and enhance the ability to appreciate.Through 12-week medium intensity Latin dance training the purpose of the research was to compare the changes of physique index and body self-esteem score of female college students before and after training,and explore the influence of middle intensity Latin dance training and different types of Latin dance training on the physique and body self-esteem of female college students.In this research,60 female college students in the elective class of Geosciences(Beijing)public sports Latin dance were selected as subjects and randomly divided into two groups: Experiment A group which proceeded Cha-Cha-Cha training,Experiment B group which proceeded Rumba training,and then 30 junior college students were chosen as control Group C without any Latin dance training.In this research,the experimentation was mainly applied,the experiment A group and B group were respectively conducted for 12 consecutive weeks of Latin dance training,the height,weight,body mass index(BMI),lung capacity,sit and reach and waistline of the participants before and after training were measured,the physical self-esteem level before and after training were examined through Physical Self-perception Profile revised by Xu Xia,and then the results were analyzed.The results showed:(1)in terms of physical fitness,body weight,BMI and waistline of experiment group A and group B reduced;(2)in terms of physical self-esteem,to experiment group A,the PSPP total score,the main scale physical self-worth and the subscales physical attractiveness increased dramatically,the subscales physical attractiveness of experiment group B improved obviously.Conclusion:(1)Moderate intensity Latin Dance training has an improved effect on the level of body self-esteem of female college students.The Cha-Cha-Cha dance training had an obvious effect than Rumba dance trainingand it had a more significant effect on female college students' physical self-esteem.(2)The medium-intensity Latin dance training has improved the physical health of female college students,but there was little difference in the improving effect of the physical fitness between the cha-cha dance training and the Rumba dance training.
