Mental health is an important part of modern people's life.The highest level of mental health is self-esteem,which is consisted of social self-esteem,emotional self-esteem and physical self-esteem.Among them,the physical self-esteem plays an important role in the emotional and psychological conditions.Line dance is one of the world-widely new sports with strong fitness value.This sport could improve the student temperament,body flexibility and self-confidence,which plays an important role in building students' physical self-esteem.Therefore,we conduct a research on the relationship between line dance and physical self-esteem.We designed experiments based on the practice of line dance.70 female college students are selected and randomly assigned to experimental group and control group.A 15-week experiment is conducted to survey the student physical self-esteem improvements by questionnaire.The result data is analyzed by statistical methods.The results demonstrate:(1)In both groups before and after the experiment:body self-esteem levels physical dimensions of physical self-worth,athletic ability,physical condition and physical attractiveness are improved in different degree;but the physical fitness decreases slightly.(2)In both experimental group before and after the experiment,it shows the significant differences in physical self-worth,athletic ability,physical condition and physical attractiveness.However,the physical fitness difference is unremarkable.(3)Compared the experimental group and the control group,the physical self-worth,athletic ability and physical attractiveness show significant difference,physical condition has general difference.Based on the results,we draw the conclusions.First,line dancing teaching can effectively improve the female students' physical self-esteem level.Second,the effect of line dance teaching and aerobics teaching on the body self-esteem of female college students is different.Compared with aerobics teaching,line dance teaching has advantages in the female students' "physical self-worth" "athletic ability" and "physical attractiveness".Third,both line dance teaching and aerobics teaching do not have a significant effect on the physical fitness of female college students.According to our research,we can provide following suggestions:(1)a benign development mechanism should be constructed to promote the sustainable development of line dance.(2)Continuously innovate teaching ideas and actively explore the teaching methods of line dancing.(3)In teaching design,try to join functional training and establish a variety of sports assessment models to promote the improvement of college students' physical fitness.(4)Combining specific sports,and supplemented by other psychological adjustment methods to promote the physical self-esteem of college students.
