Application Of CAT Tool MemoQ In The Translation Of Localization Projects

The fast progress of CAT(computer-aided translation)technology has motivated the development of CAT tools in the 1990's.And in recent years,localization industry focusing on products and services has been rising gradually and prosperously.Given that backdrop,translators are facing fiercer challenges characterized by a large amount of translation,short translation time and high demand on translation quality.Therefore,it's more important than ever to master some CAT tools for translators.Based on the practice of translation on localization projects,this thesis takes the specific project as an example to introduce the application of CAT tool MemoQ in aspect of unity of terms,quality of translated text and search of information,and emphasizes its critical role in optimizing the translation process and improving the translation efficiency and quality.The thesis analyzes specific cases and summarizes the translation process of localization projects while illustrating MemoQ's application.By introducing the application of MemoQ in translation of localization project,the thesis aims to provide basic knowledge of MemoQ's profound and practical functions and also to offer basic reference for people who are engaged in translation of localization industry yet not familiar with it.
