A Report On The Interpretation Of The Documentary: Celebrating The Chinese New Year

Documentary is an art form which finds its expression in movies or TV plays.It is based on the real life with a true story as the performance focus and carries on the artistic processing and presentation aiming at displaying true nature.Thus,people could dwell on them critically.The author conducts a simulative consecutive interpretation on CCTV documentary Celebrating the Chinese New Year.Consecutive interpretation involves a complicated cross-language and cross-cultural activity which is composed of receiving source language,comprehending information,switching code and expressing in target language.According to the transcript,the author analyzes and studies the interpretation process under the guidance of Interpretive Theory.This report is divided into four parts,including task description,process description,case analysis and conclusion.On the basis of the whole interpretation process,the author summarizes the present problems and combines Interpretive Theory with them to find the specific methods and improves strategies to reduce and correct the mistakes in order to improve her interpreting competence.At the same time,the author hopes that this report could provide some references to other learners majoring in English interpretation so as to improve the quality of their interpretation.
