This is a report on The Translation of Climate Intervention: Carbon Dioxide Removal and Reliable Sequestration(Excerpts),which was published by the National Academies Press.It mainly discusses about decarbonizing the energy system,adapting to climate change,carbon dioxide removal,long-term sequestration systems,social context and future development.This translation report can be divided into four parts.The first one is task description,in which task background,objectives and significance of the task are discussed.The second part is process description,which includes pre-translation preparation,such as professional knowledge learning,the building of a glossary of terminologies,translation tools preparation and theoretical preparation,and translation process like analysis of EST texts,expression and revision.The third part is the core of this report.Under the guidance of the Functional Equivalence Theory,the author analyzes key and difficult cases in detail at the lexical,syntactic and discourse levels based on her translation.At the end of the report,solutions to difficult problems,creativities and limitations are concluded.
