Domestic violence is a social event in the international community. It is more of a danger psychologically than actually physically, which has a huge negative impact on victims, mainly on women and children. As the society develops, rates of violence are rising, not falling. It is an urgent issue to realize the impact of domestic violence and explore how to solve it.The translator excerpts the first four chapters of No Visible Bruises by Rachel Louise Snyder as the translation project, which is a sociological text of written style for the author’s elaboration and spoken style for characters’ dialogues. In translation, the point is to ensure that its expression is accurate and natural and its style is consistent.Based on this, the translator finds it appropriate to adopt these translation methods such as negation, sentence reconstruction and addition. This report will aim to analyze the translation practice at the lexical, syntactic, and textual level from the perspective of Nida’s functional equivalence theory, thus achieving equivalence in content and form and making readers of the TT produce the similar response to those of the ST. |
