Science articles,as one of practical texts,play an important role in the transmission of knowledge of science and technology.The remarkable feature of scientific translation lies in its specialized vocabulary and univocal meaning.The difficulty of scientific translation lies in long sentences and complex structure.Conveying information effectively and ensuring the authenticity and accuracy of the translation are the priorities of scientific translation.With the increasing cultural exchanges between different countries,scientific translation plays an increasingly important role.It requires accuracy in content,preciseness in structure,and clearness in concept.What is more,scientific translation pursues something like “likelihood” in its function concerning the original text.So this paper selects the article “Application of Internet of Things in Intelligent Energy Field” to translate,using Nida's functional equivalence theory to analyze how to translate the specialized vocabulary and how to explore the methods of its long complex sentence translation.It is divided into five chapters.The first chapter mainly introduces the background of translation materials and the significance of the translation.The second chapter mainly discusses the standard of scientific translation and the guiding significance under the theory of functional equivalence.The last three chapters are practice chapters,which are translation process summary,text case study and conclusion.It provides a feasible reference for translators.
