Looking Glass Self Of Medium:the Research In New Generation Of Migrant Workers' Identity

Identity,as one of elements of shaping personality of new generation of migrant workers,makes the indescribable effect in their social communication and life.Whether in urban or in village,they all undergo the tests about their identity cognition from various aspects.According this process,medium,as the carrier of information,make an important role in the formation and repairation of identification.The author try to through the field work based on new generation of migrant workers to explore the procedure of their identification before and after going to urban,and find out how medium to work in their adjustment of identification and behavior qualities.At the same time,this paper also want to find out that how can the medium affect new generation of migrant workers ' city integration.According to the research,I got a result:faced to relatively simple social structure,the new generation of migrant workers in rural life through interpersonal and organization communication to speculate their images in others ' minds.When their social behavior can not be admitted,they want to make a balance between reality and inner.They affect by their peer in reality,try to find an outlet for their emotion in a different world made by medium.They want to find another ego in that world.The result from research shows that the identification of new generation of migrant workers experienced two periods to adjust their identification when they walk from rural society to urban society.Firstly,when they were going to the city at very start,face to the bomb of urban information and diversified medium,new generation of migrant workers changed their scales of identification.Although their living space from physical sense just be changed,they doubt the rural ego model by village social structure.In order to adapt to urban environment,they use interpersonal communication and organization experience to make a mirror for reflecting themselves,they also use new media to convenience themselves to closer to urban crowd.When they adapt to urban life and build up new human capital,they through message map to internalized new identification standard for admitting personal social behavior changes.They got another feeling about their former rural ego,their own identification also be remodeled during this process.During this process,from changes of identification of new generation of migrant workers to new formation of identification,information from medium make the changing of social behavior of new generation of migrant workers and remodel this crowd's feeling of rural world.Those changes make the promoting of their modernity.After their transformation to city,new generation of migrant workers will not just model a pure urban personality,through their efforts,they use the message selected by themselves to remodel a new identification blend urban and rural social traits.As the important base of social identity formation,identification affect the social acknowledge and the sense of belonging urban world in their mind.In the eyes of this group,city is not a modern society which independent of rural world.The self-identity of this group will decide new generation of migrant workers' formation and development of acceptance of urban.From this point of view,identification of new generation of migrant workers has a self-explanatory meaning for adaption and integrated into city life.
