Since the reform and opening up,the first generation of migrant workers have made tremendous contributions and sacrifices for the country's economic development.However,in the long-term urban work life away from the countryside,their identity has been constantly changing and gradually becoming marginalized in the process of deconstructive and constructive integration,showing the real dilemma of not wanting to return to the countryside or to integrate into the city.The exploration of the status quo and the changing process of the identity of migrant workers in the first generation can not only completely understand the influence of institutional arrangements,urban society and individual emotions on the construction of identity,but also promote the solution of migrant workers' identity problems and promote the smooth development of urbanization.get on.Therefore,it is extremely necessary to explore and study the status quo and the mechanism of the identity of the first generation of migrant workers.This paper attempts to trace the identity change of the first generation of migrant workers in different industries and positions in the personal urban life encounter under the theme of identity dilemma.Comparing vertical identity change with horizontal identity to show the influence of state,society and individual on identity construction.Based on the research perspective of social construction theory,this paper uses qualitative research methods of deep case interviews on the basis of academic research in an academic field,trying to break through the relatively static description of specific phenomena in previous studies,thus seeking dialogue and "deep description" with the lively "concrete workers" in group “abstract workers”.Case studies show that the mutual rebellious relationship between the household registration system and modernity has made the identity of the first generation of migrant workers vague,multivariate and difficult to be harmonious.The contradiction between the rejection of urban society and the desire to change individual identity also makes their identity stop at the group network;The negative urban life experience makes the identity of migrant workers involved in the negative urban sentiment.The resulting disintegration of identity not only makes their sense of fairness,justice,satisfaction and trust in society lower,which in turn affects their own urban life experience,but also poses certain risks to society.The identity of the first generation of migrant workers is a long-term process of continuous change,accompanied by the choice of situational differences.In the process of identity change of individual migrant workers,employment quality,social security,social interaction,space field and other factors play an important role,and with the superposition of identity psychology,identity is gradually formed.Under this kind of social formation mechanism,the optimization and construction of the migrant workers' identity identification mechanism not only needs to improve their economic status and reinforce their social welfare,but also needs to promote the equalization reform of the household registration system and the expansion of heterogeneous public space.In this way,migrant workers can finally achieve a smooth transition of their identity in the improvement of their living conditions.
