At present, the domestic and foreign research results about the relationship between China and Vietnam is abundant, but the change in the identity and interests of the in-depth analysis of the article. The role identity theory of social constructivism, provides a new perspective for the study of the ups and downs of the the relationship between China and Vietnam. The role of identity as a subjective international relations behavior body self explanation, which will as between the actors "common culture" change, and have an important impact on the country’s foreign policy. China and Vietnam established diplomatic relations sixty-six years, each role identity, from the experience of "friends" to "rival" to "enemy" to "rival" change, accordingly, the relations between the two countries through the evolution of cooperation from friendly cooperation- competition and cooperation- hostile- competition and cooperation.Based on the theory of international relations of social constructivism, the formation and transformation of role identity in the sixty-six years between China and Vietnam is analyzed, and the influence of the relationship between China and Vietnam is discussed.The thesis is divided into the following chapters to analyze the problem:In the first chapter, it interprets the concept of social constructivism and role identity, and the value of this factor in the study of international relations. The second chapter discusses the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam from the reality, sixty-six years, the change process of the role of each other’s identity. The third chapter focuses on the influence of negative and positive role on the relationship between China and Vietnam, as well as the role of identity the transformation of the relationship between the two countries. The fourth chapter mainly analyzes the Enlightenment of China and Vietnam,constructing the positive role identity dilemma. The fifth chapter mainly discusses the two countries shake off the predicament and way of constructing positive role identity. The conclusion part, summarizes the main play in the relations between the two countries in the impact on the role. And the positioning of the role of identity between China and Vietnam tends to do a further prospect.
