A Study On The Long-term Care Of The Elderly Living Alone In Urban Community Of Yinchuan

Background: China has entered the aging society in 1999, Facing with an increasingly serious situation and changing in family structure, the traditional model of family pension's weakening, more and more elderly people do not live together with their children, meanwhile, how the elderly to age in this context, becomes the focus point of the whole society.Objective: Describe and analyze the situation, long-term care situation and the needs of the elderly living alone in the Urban Community of Yinchuan. Using the methods of descriptive statistics, correlation analysis and data analysis, Combined with the economy, health care, daily care, mental health, leisure time schedule, the thesis explores urban community long-term care system for the elderly living alone participated by the government and relevant institutions, markets, communities, non-governmental organizations, children, the elderly and other aspects, to improve the life quality of the elderly.Methods: Combined with the descriptive analysis to analyze basic service of Yinchuan Urban Community elderly people living alone and exist pension services analysis by using SPSS17.0 statistical software. Based on the case interviews, economic status, health care, daily care, mental health, leisure time schedule and other aspects of information analyzes the needs of the long-term care of elderly people living alone with various dimensions by Chi-square test and multiple linear regression method.Results:1. Status of the elderly living alone in Yinchuan Urban Community The analysis pointed out that, the sample lined with demographic characteristics. Analyze from five aspects, economic status, health care, daily care, mental health, leisure time schedule.2. The long-term care services supply status of Yinchuan City community for the elderly living alone family care: social and family structure changes, children fail to provide appropriate services for elderly people living alone. Agency Care: three Districts of Yinchuan, per thousand elderly pension has a number of beds about 8, and falls far behind the national standards. Community Care: the number of community health service stations crowd the radiation point of view is compliance, and the community center for senior citizens, and the provide of the distribution of community elderly day-care centers can not meet the needs of the urban community of elderly people living alone.3. The needs factors of Yinchuan Urban Community long-term care services for the elderly living alone Economic needs: chi-square test(? = 0.05), age, income, education level, the main source of income, pre-retirement and other factors on the nature of the unit income satisfaction have an effect on income satisfaction. Health care needs: chi-square test(? = 0.05) showed that age, is suffering from chronic or not, medical expenses, the sleep have an effect on health satisfaction. Overall living conditions: stepwise regression analysis showed that, income, health, the environment of the family and the existing pension service have an effect on overall living satisfaction, and a positive correlation,family satisfaction makes the greatest impact.4. Problems and shortcomings of the elderly living alone's long-term care in Yinchuan Urban Community Family level: changes in family structure, home care capacity is limited. Agency level: long-term care supply and demand is imbalance, long-term care services professional is not strong, lack of appropriate binding mechanism. Community level: the integration degree of Community Resource is low; the management system is not perfect, low degree of specialization community home care services, low coverage, long-term care community service is not perfect, lack of support. Institutional level: the long-term care policy formulation and implementation are unfounded, introduced long-term care insurance faces many constraints, commercial insurance, non-governmental, non-profit and other community organizations is the difficult in long-term care. Elderly level: the pension consciousness is conservative, religious customs is making an important role in the choice of pension ways.Suggestions:1. Family level: children provide parents' life, not only provide help in material life, buy also give parents guidance and comfortable in spirit2. Agency level: support the development of pension institutions actively, forming a "three kinds of institutions + two centers" framework of the basic pension agency services; improve the professional of pension institutions; promote the combination of medical and pension.3. Community level: integration of social resources, improve the management system, and actively introduce pension services stationed in the community, to play and to expand the scope of services the community health service centers.4.Institutional level: establish the urban community long-term insurance care for the elderly living alone; sound the management and oversight mechanisms; guaranteed the funding Insurance of Urban Community long term care of elderly living alone; commercial insurance, non-governmental, non-profit and other community organizations to actively participate5. Elderly level: to establish a sense of aging, healthy lifestyle; enhance physical exercise, take active participate in physical exercises and recreational activities for the elderly.
