Research On Post-disaster Psychological Interveniton And Counseling To Relevant Personnel

Many accidents and disasters occur every year in China. The disaster can induce victimsto lose materials and suffer mental distress. The modern principle of disaster relief workfocuses on the above-mentioned aspects, but the attention must turn to mental distress, arisingfrom difficulty in heal. Hence, a new disaster relief mode-post-disaster psychologicalintervention is proposed, which is a remedial measure to heal the victims’ mental distress. Tobe specific, the victim may suffer mental distress besides physical injury after natural disasterdue to force majeure or man-made disaster, and the mental distress may induce the victimslow on the draw and cannot be quick on the draw like normal subjects, what’s more, theseriously-ill ones may commit suicide or commit a violent crime to others. Hence, this modeaims to make victims who suffer mental distress due to disasters regain sense of security, copewith their negative induced emotion, such as pessimism and fear and make them return life tonormal through psychological counsel.At present, the researches on post-disaster psychological intervention and counselingproceed from the practice to discuss how to make aftermath well in China; however, theempirical researches and the researches on targeted group are less. Many theoreticalperspectives and authoritatively medical and psychological therapy cannot be integratedeffectively, so the post-disaster psychological intervention and counseling hasn’t been formeda system.This paper firstly introduces the conceptions and theories of post-disaster psychologicalintervention and counseling, analyzes the its current situation in China and states itsimportance and social value; then, this paper details and analyzes the problems of currentpost-disaster psychological intervention and counseling in China; finally, this paper considersChinese specific circumstance to propose the thoughts and countermeasures by drawing onthe mental crisis interventional mechanism and operational mode in disasters of foreigndeveloped countries.
