| In recent years, China’s urban and rural fertility wishes are in a continuous decline. The fifth and sixth census data show that China’s total fertility rate was 1.22 and 1.18. Low fertility has become China’s economic and social development of the major risks. Influenced by the traditional "having children against age and "more happiness comes with more offspring" concept, pension has been one of the main motivations of residents choose fertility. The impact of social endowment insurance and family support on fertility will be widely concerned by the academic community.Based on the data of China Comprehensive Social Survey (CGSS) in 2013, using Logit model and Poisson regression model, this paper analyzes the impact of social endowment insurance and family support on the fertility desire of Chinese residents. The study found that social endowment insurance and family pension in improving the probability of choice of the residents of China, while also increasing the number of their children. But there are gender differences in their effect. In addition, this paper also analyzes the impact of the interaction between social endowment insurance and family pension on the desire for childbearing. Found that social endowment insurance has strengthened the positive impact of family pension on childbearing. Finally, in order to verify the robustness of the above findings, this paper is divided into urban and rural areas to test the impact of social endowment insurance and family pension on fertility. The study showed that, whether it is the desire of fertility as two or count variables, household registration has a significant impact. The regression results also have robustness. The results of this paper have important policy implications. First of all, the second child policy is not the only way to encourage the birth of the population. Appropriate to improve the treatment of social security for the elderly, we can indirectly control the number of population, from policy to control fertility to social security under the voluntary coverage of appropriate fertility. In addition, the realization of social security balanced development of urban and rural areas at the same time, should promote social endowment insurance and family pension to form benign complementarity, to eliminate the residents of the pension fear and anxiety. This will help residents make a reasonable fertility decision-making. |
