Research On Factors Of Myanmar In BCIM Economic Corridor Initiative

The World today is changing and developing constantly.In the face of the new situations and problems,how to face and solve them appropriately is an inevitable challenge for every country.For Myanmar,the new external situation includes the Bangladesh,China,India,Myanmar Economic Corridor Initiative(BCIM Economic Corridor Initiative).Since the BCIM Economic Corridor Initiative began to take shape in the early 1999,it has long been regarded as an effective way to develop southward for China.The new situations inside Myanmar are mainly marked by the changes appearing after the election year of 2010 and 2015 respectively.With the presentation of the Belt and Road(the initiative of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road),the development of the BCIM Economic Corridor Initiative will certainly attract increasing attention from all over the world.The BCIM Economic Corridor is one of the six economic corridors which were put forward by Vice-Premier Zhang Gaoli in the year of 2015.As the country closest to China,Myanmar is to be highly valued in the BCIM Economic Corridor Initiative.As mentioned above,it is inevitable for Myanmar to take into consideration the BCIM Economic Corridor Initiative,especially the opportunities and challenges brought about by China,if Myanmar urges to seize the development opportunity.This paper begins with the BCIM Economic Corridor Initiative,focuses on Myanmar,and then analyzes both the influential factors of Myanmar on China and China's countermeasures under the environment of the BCIM Economic Corridor Initiative.This paper is divided into three parts.The first part introduces not only the emergence,development of the BCIM Economic Corridor Initiative but also the significance of participation.The second part mainly introduces the role of Myanmar in the BCIM Economic Corridor Initiative and the relevant factors that influence its function in it.The third part analyzes not merely the influence of Myanmar in the context of the BCIM Economic Corridor Initiative on China but also China's attitudes and countermeasures towards it in consideration of those influential factors of Myanmar.
