Comrade Deng Xiaoping once point ed that “without democracy,there would be no socialism”.Political participation is the inherent requirements of dem ocratic politics and the main content,it is an important way for citizens to expre ss their interest dem ands,can influence the formulation and implementation of government policies,but also measure an i mportant reference index of the degree of a nation's political modernization.Our country is a large agricultural country,there are about 900 m illion farmers,is an im portant part of Chinese socialist democratic politics.Therefore,the political participation of farmers plays an important rol e in the healthy development of Chinese democratic politics,affecting the ove rall level of Chinese politics.To develop socialist democratic politics,we must attach great importance to farmers' political participation.With the continuous advance of reform and opening-up,socialist market economy gradually mature,part of our awareness of the farmers began to slowly wake up,on t heir own power and right understanding gradually deepened,political participation requirements gradually increased.The history of the vast rura l areas of our country is lack of democratic tradition,and dem ocratic construction started relatively late,in the level of farmers' political participation rising a t the same time,also with many short comings and deficiencies,exposed some problems.The current research on the political participation of farmers,many scholars mostly from the overall situation,this article taking Liu Xu town as a case,through the analysis of Liu Xu town types of politic al participation,discusses the factors restricting Liu Xu town farm ers' political participation,and puts forwar d some effective counterm easures to improve the farmers' political partic ipation.The article is divided into four parts,introduction,Liu Xu town types and present situation analysis of farmers' political participation,factors restricting Liu Xu to wn farmers' political participation,improve the farmers' political participation Liu Xu town of countermeasures and suggestions.The first part,introduction.Main ly paper research
