Research On The Community Integration Of Immigrants' Dilemma And Social Work Intervention

Professional social work plays an important role in many areas over one hundred year's development.It is necessary to make full use of social work and explore the new fields of it,grasping opportunities to participate in community governance and maintain social harmony.Participating in community governance and maintaining social harmony are also the mission and development path of social work.The three gorges projects is the largest water project around the world which cause a ?worldwide problem — the resettlement of millions immigrants.Local governments take steps to resettle these immigrants,promoting the community integration of them.However,some immigrants from the three gorges immigrants still left behind.It is necessary to consider how to resolve the problem of community integration of immigrants under such a serious situation.This paper examines the difficulty of the community integration of the three gorges immigrants through a case study of the three gorges immigrants in Yuhang,Zhejiang.We collected data through questionnaires and interviews.We analyze such difficulty through several dimensions,the reestablishment of economic,cultural and social relations,public participation,etc.Based on the analysis of the attributes of the difficulty of the community integration of the three gorges immigrants.First,the paper finds out that it is necessary to develop,strategies of social work to promote the community integration of immigrants.Second,this paper analyzes the preconditions of incorporating social work into community integration from several dimensions,such as governance support,policy guarantee,public recognition,human resources,etc.finally,this paper intends to develop some professional strategies of social work to the difficulty of community integration of immigrants.This paper develops three strategies of social work for all immigrants.(1)The governance should be aware that it is valuable to incorporate social work into community integration.(2)Developing a talent pool to improve social work.(3)Developing various channels for social work which would be useful to expand the influence social work.In sum,it is necessary to establish a favorable environment to relieve some obstructive factors,promoting the process of community integration.In addition,this paper develops other three strategies especially for some immigrants with more difficulties.(1)Empowering these immigrants to improve their individual abilities.(2)Building a communication system to reduce conflicts.(3)Integrating resources to help them establish a social support system.In brief,it is necessary to apply the skills of social work to help these immigrants get away from the difficulty of community integration and rehabilitate social function,promoting the sustainable development of community.
