Stalin In The Eyes Of Mao Zedong (from 1937 To 1976)

From 1937 to 1976, Mao Zedong had a lot of comments on Stalin,and it showed a certain stage characteristics. On the one hand, he thought that"Stalin's mistakes are obvious", on the other hand,he believed that use "a thirty-seventy ratio" to make evaluations of Stalin is more appropriate.We should continue to hang the portrait of Stalin, learn from the works of Stalin and the advanced experience of Soviet;Between 1960 and 1976,Stalin is still "a great Marxist-Leninist" in the eyes of Mao Zedong. Mao Zedong tried his best to defend Stalin and argue in favor of him vigorously during the Sino-Soviet debate. During The Great Cultural Revolution, Mao Zedong made a complete affirmation of Stalin, he regarded Stalin as a genius like Marx, Engels, and Lenin.The four stages of Mao Zedong's evaluation of Stalin have different emphases,but the viewpoints which he regarded Stalin as a Great Marxist Leninist and Proletarian Revolutionist is always the main line running through them and it's his most basic assessment of Stalin. Although Mao Zedong's evaluation of Stalin has obvious repetition and contradiction, moreover,there are still some problems in the evaluation,such as excessive praise, untrue criticism, over defense, and no further to research the social,theoretical and institutional roots of Stalin's mistakes. But generally speaking, the evaluation can be made from the overall situation of the Communist Party of China's self-construction, the Chinese revolution and construction, and the international communist movement, it's basically objective and fair.
