Modem countries are generally faced with identity crisis with varying degrees. In the process of globalization and modernization, with lots of multiple values appearing, the supra-state actors and the sub-state actors rising, the problem of the definition and ownership of the public is becoming more and more obvious. The stability and unity of many countries are facing the crisis of identity.Compared to developed countries, the developing countries' crisis of identity is more complex. In the context of globalization, the developing countries are committed to advancing the modernization of the country. In this process, the original factors that shape people's identity are faced with deconstruction, demise or reshaping, the crisis of identity began to appear and became more and more serious.Indonesia is located in Southeast Asia.,it is an important developing country in the world, and its problem of identity is very serious and representative. It is of great theoretical and practical significance to analyze the problem of national identity in Indonesia. At present, there are not many monographs on the issue of national identity of Indonesia, and the existing research is not comprehensive, which is limited to the issue of the reform of democratization and the problems of ethnic and religion. This paper uses historical, literature and systematic analysis to research the process of the influence of Indonesia's political system on national identity from the perspective of the relationship between the construction of political system and national identity. As a multi-ethnic and multi-religious developing country,Indonesia, since the fragmentation of territorial and lack of common history, the basis of national identity is weak before its independence. Therefore, this paper excludes the identity construction in Indonesia which regards regional identity, ethnic identity, religious identity, cultural identity as the key point, and chooses to focus on political system to build Indonesia's national identity. After independence, although Sukarno and Suharto reformed the political system, but with the lack of understanding and mishandling of national conditions, ethnic, religious and Javanese culture, the citizen's national identity was fluctuating, the problem of identity had always existed, which is characterized by the race and religious conflicts, and even the local separatist movement. In the post-Suharto era,the political system was carried out a reform of democratization with a radical way,and national conditions, race, religion and Javanese culture were taken into account more reasonable and rational.Indonesia's national identity has been improved, the stability and unity of the country has been maintained, but the basis of separatism still exists, the state still facing the identity crisis.
