In 1947 the British approved the Louis Mountbatten program,in August 14,1947,Pakistan dominion was independent from UK;in August 15 th,the establishment of the India dominion was independent from UK.Since the separation of the two countries——India,Pakistan,the conflict between the two countries had brought heavily disaster.About 500,000 people were killed in sectarian violence,12 million people were homeless,the amount of refugees who fled to other countries each other is about 10 millin.The separation cut the original economic ties,resulting in the lopsided development of the two countries' economy.The separation brought about political discord between the two countries,causing multiple conflicts.Pakistan is threatened by India,both economically and militarily.In order to form a balance of power with India in South Asia,Pakistan began to develop nuclear weapons.However,Pakistan began to develop civilian nuclear facilities.After the third war between India and Pakistan in 1971 which Pakistan lost East Pakistan(now Bangladesh),Pakistan began to develop nuclear weapons.In the course of Pakistan's development of nuclear weapons,any event is likely to change the course of Pakistan's nuclear development.National coup,U.S.intervention and sanctions,changes in the cold war situation and changes in the situation in South Asia have affected the process of nuclear development in Pakistan.This paper reviews the process of Pakistan's nuclear development,mainly describes the different events in different periods of Pakistan,and the impact on the process of nuclear development.In this paper,taking the time as the main line,systematically expounds the process of Pakistan nuclear development.1950 s to 1960 s,Pakistan developed civilian nuclear infrastructure.During this period,the United States had been working with India and Pakistan to sign the nuclear non-proliferation treaty.In 1971,the third war between India and Pakistan had outbreak,East Pakistan(now Bangladesh)was independence from Pakistan.During the third India and Pakistan war,Pakistan realized that the so-called allies would not always be allies,they must rely on their own strength,and at the same time,Pakistan realized the importance of the development of nuclear weapons.1970 s to 1990 s,Pakistan began to develop nuclear weapons technology research.During this period,the politics in Pakistan was turbulent.In the arms race with India,Pakistan was not only developing nucleartechnology,but also constantly changing its nuclear posture,in response to changes in the international environment and the attitude of nuclear powers.After India's nuclear test in 1998,Pakistan exploded 6 nuclear devices,marking that Pakistan had became a nuclear weapon state.
