The Research On Non-profit Organization Participation In Community Services

Politics,economy and social fields have been changed rapidly and profoundly nearly forty years of reform and opening-up in China.More and more people changed their identity from ‘unit one' to ‘community one',and community became the fundamental unit of social governance.Community services present various and multilevel requirements by different residents.Distinguish from government and market,NGO(Non-profit organization),which is called ‘The Third Department' now on its fast track growth path after slowly improving,and turn into one of the indispensable power during social governance and community services increasingly by its unique and advantages.This thesis takes Weiting subdistrict,SIP for an example,choosing some NGO which supply services of 21 communities in Weiting as the writing point,combining ways of intensive interview and cases study to analyze the current situation of NGO and its community services.Besides the realities there are also several theories to prove the necessity of NGO participate in community services,including community governance theory,market/government/volunteer failure theory,the third department theory and new public management/service theory.These NGO which participate in community services are still in a preliminary stage because of short development period,small organization scale,lack in capital and experience,therefore,problems should be inevitable.In order to give useful suggestions on participating in community services by NGO,classify and analyze reasons of problems on the background of Weiting will helpful,not only for improving the external environment but also for improving the internal governance.This thesis emphasize on suggestions that hope NGO will conquer difficulties during community services effectively.Once NGO grow healthily and overcome development bottleneck,they will play a more important role in community services and social governance.
