The Study On The Community Services For Urban Elderly

With the approach of the aging society, the problem of the old-age has become one of the most important issues. Due to gradual weakening of the family old-age function, the Government's limited financial resources and the growing aging population, institutions and socio-economic deficiencies of the old-age and the rapid development of community, services will be made an important aspect of happiness on the elderly in their twilight years. With low cost, high efficiency characteristics, Community service can't meet the wishes of the elderly retirement home only, but also make up for the weakness of families and institutions. So it has a very important significance in resolving China's problem of the ageing in the city. However, China's practice of community service has relatively short history and community building is not perfect enough which leads to some issues on the community service, such as the governmental flavor, the lack of professional staff, low level of service. So community service can not fully meet the needs of elderly. In light of these problems, the article pointed out that the development of the elderly community services needed the cooperation of the government, on-profit organizations and the volunteers. They undertake commitment-led operation, participation in the duties and tasks, thereby ensuring that the country's aging community service and the healthy, orderly, long-term development.
