A Study On The Process Of Resistance Of The Rural Left-behind Women

Since the 1980 s,with the deepening reform and opening up in China,urban and rural dual system has been gradually disintegrated,which leads a large number of rural surplus labor to the city.But due to urban and rural dual institutional barriers and their own economic constraints,migrant workers do not have the ability for whole family's migration,which created a unique rural population left behind,such as left-behind women,left-behind children,left-behind elderly.Among them,the left-behind women are the group which bear the heaviest burden,stress and limited attention,while contributing the most to the rural development.The research employs qualitative method.By the means of interviews for the case of left-behind women,it gains experiences of the major life events during the "left behind" period,then explores how the left-behind women adopted action strategies when facing them,which result to stimulate the resilience of protection factors,showing the resilience of left-behind women life.On the basis of them,it summarizes the formatting mechanisms regarding the resilience of left-behind women.The study found that the life status and personality traits of women left behind were the result of continuous interaction and strengthening in social context.In the face of life events they develop a series of coping strategies under the influence of the strong local living environment.The main factors which influencing the anti-stress generating process for left-behind women are life events,coping strategies and life status.From the point of view of life events,the size of the stress events determines the time and individual recovery ability of the women who are left behind.From the coping strategies,the left-behind women use external support factors to help cope with stress events,how to use their own ability,individual characteristics to maintain the relationship with the parties is the focus of the supporters.In addition,the inherent advantages of factors are also the key factors on which helping left-behind women overcome stress events and alleviate the impact of the event.And,under the impact of various stress events,the left-behind women gradually enhance the ability to communicate with people to solve the problem.Finally,scientific and technological progress,religious comfort for the left-behind women provide a platform for easing their psychological pressure.Under the influence of multiple protection factors,the left-behind women form three life states of the protection state,the natural state and the health status.However,regardless of which state,left-behind women gradually completed the adaptation and the resilience of the reconstruction.The process when left-behind women facing the major life events,coping strategies and life status moves in circles.After the cumulative role,it continues to perform on a new round of life events.Individuals who are in the process of anti-stress generation,also gradually adapt to the reconstruction of the living environment.Under the effect of a variety of factors,it forms a strong protective mechanism and contributes to promoting individual's growth.
