With the continuous development of information technology, Internet has gradually become the darling of the times and the quantity of the netizens has increased rapidly, which has greatly changed the public opinion propagation pattern of China. According to the survey results, the college students account for an increasing proportion among the netizens year by year. In recent years, the online public opinions of China?s colleges and universities have showed an obvious rising trend. With the springing up of the We Media platforms such as Microblog etc., the individual interactivity on the internet has strengthened, bringing a great challenge for the public opinion management of colleges and universities. Therefore, it has important theoretical significance and practical value to make a reasonable analysis on the online public opinion of colleges and universities and establish an effective guidance and management plan.Online public opinion at colleges and universities is a part of social online public opinion and the total of consistent and public viewpoints and attitudes with positive influence which are formed through propagation and interaction of the focus issues by the behavioral agents at colleges and universities via network. With characteristics of general online public opinions in the propagation process, it is mainly reflected in the following six aspects: 1. Emotionalization and non-rationality of the behavioral agents; 2. the interactivity and timeliness of propagation strengthened; 3. the richness and complexity of the information; 4. the freedom and resistance to control of public opinions; 5. The secretiveness and explicitness of online public opinions; 6. The individuation and group polarization of the netizens.With the guidance and management of the online public opinions at colleges and universities in Huhan City as research topic, and the college students in four colleges and universities such as Wuhan University of Technology as the object of study, this paper carries out research on the current situation of online public opinions of Wuhan colleges and universities through questionnaire survey by way of random sampling. Meanwhile, interviews to the personnel participating in propaganda work in colleges and universities are also conducted to analyze the existing problems about the management of online public opinions, besides, it also discusses and summaries the management objective, coordination mechanism and management mechanism of the online public opinions at colleges and universities and puts forward targets and suggestions to the platform construction guided by the online public opinions to help the administrators have a scientific command of solutions to the online public opinions and effectively solve the contradictions between administrators and those being administrated, forming active and positive university public opinions and constructing harmonious campus cultures through correct guidance.
