Nowadays, in the study of adolescent physical and mental development, the function of the sports activities is a hot topic in society. The researchers explore and try to put forward feasible measures, from the respects of physiology and psychology, to cope with a series of problems, such as how to improve the physical health of teenagers, what kind of sports is the most effective, how to do the more effective teaching of physical education, and so on. We should admit that attending sports activity can promote teenagers’ bone growth, correct the shape of their bodies, enhance immunity, reduce the pressure on learning, and help them improve concentration, and so on. Though sports activity can bring benefits to teenagers, as we have been told, sports education is discriminated in the environment of schooling, because of our current national schooling condition.There is no doubt that this is one of the main factors which lead to the physical health of teenagers continuing to decline.In the current Chinese schooling system, students have very heavy pressure of studying and examination. So the most students, parents and teachers would like to pay more attention to the main lessons, instead of doing more sports activity. A part of schools and parents even argue that attending sports activity will makes students feel tired easily, so that students have less limited energy to study. And they think that time is precious, and extremely limited. Compared with sitting in classrooms tamely, physical activity already has take up valuable learning time.Although parents, teachers, and teenagers know the functions of sports to human, they prefer to get an examination paper with a high score, which is more valuable in their hearts. Meanwhile, in the schooling phenomenon, PE classes are often occupied by other main subjects, even if currently we emphasis on the quality-oriented education. So there are lots of points of our schooling systemneeding to reform, especially in the terms of the notion of sports. Thus, if we can scientifically prove the relationship between sports participation and academic performance, as many foreign mature scientific researchers have confirmed that sports can help students do better in study. In a word, it is extremely significant that people’s emotional attitude to sports participation can be corrected.This research tries to make out the relationship between sports participation and academic performance by scientific researching, and analyze the reasons. I do the research by document resources, questionnaire method, mathematical statistics, and other researching way. And I analyze the data by using SPSS 19.0.The hypotheses of this study are as follows:Students’ sports frequency, sports intensity, the level of sports skills and knowledge, and the emotional attitude of sports participation are separately significantly positive correlation with students’ academic performance.In this study, the conclusions are as follows:1. At this stage of the students’ exercise frequency and exercise intensity present negative correlation with the students’ academic performance.2. The students’ sports participation in our country at present stage did not have the positive function of improve students’ academic performance.3. The academic performance of students in our country at present stage can not fairly reflect the students’ professional qualification.4. Positive emotions involved in the premise of sports participation is to implement the premise condition of sports participation to improve the function of the brain.Further analysis can be concluded that: nowadays, in our country, the relationship between the exam-oriented educational achievement which violate the laws of scientific development and sports participation which is illusory formality is no significant positive correlation.
