GIS Assisted Instruction Of Human Geography In High School

With the continuous development and rising popularity of computer technology,GIS have also made tremendous development in recent decades. GIS is building increasingly close relations with people, widely applied in many fields, in play a more and more important role in people’s production and living. Introducing GIS into high school geography teaching, although there are still some problems at present, but the application of the geography education in the high school will be a trend and greatly promote the foundation geography education’s reform and development. This paper simply discussed the development trend of middle school geography education in information Age and research status at home and abroad of GIS assisted instruction,analyzed the applicability of GIS assisted Human Geography instruction in high school. Listed the applicable GIS functions to the high school geography teaching and the advantage of GIS assisted geography instruction. Divided the content of human geography into three different themes on the basis of GIS assisted geography instruction. And designed different teaching cases with it. Finally, described in detail the main problems of GIS assisted geography instruction in high school at present.
