The Chinese curriculum standards (2011 edition) points out" According to the needs of expression, the students correct their compositions with the sense of language and Chinese knowledge and that can make their composition be clear and idiomatic. " The Chinese curriculum standards put forward that there are 6 requirements about the modifying composition. And 3 requirements point out that students writing abilities can improve by the abilities of modifying. The word "change" appear 10 times in the standards. All of the requirements show that modifying composition is so important. Modifying composition is a part of the writing process and the ability to modifying is an element of the writing ability. In reality, however, teachers pay attention to the writing teaching and ignore the guidance of modifying. And the students stress the writing and pay no attention to the modifying. All of these can severely impact the improvement of modifying ability and hindered the all-round development of students' writing ability. So the subjects of the research are capacities for independent modified of junior high school students. The thesis has carried on the theoretical research, investigation research and strategy research.The research has significance for the modifying abilities of junior high school students' composition and can cultivate the writing habits.The research used literature research, questionnaire, interview method and case analysis and other methods. The author was found some questions of the modifying composition by summarize the reference materials and research of theoretical basis, under the theoretical guidance, reference to previous research tools, design the questionnaire and interview outline, and understand the status of junior high school students' modifying composition and analyzed the data. The problems are as follows:the students are misunderstand the modifying composition and lack of modified consciousness; lack of modified knowledge and methods, lack the ability of modifying; do not have the habit of modifying. For the teachers, in the modifying composition, there are not enough training to reach the designated position and feedback. The main causes of this phenomenon are:do not pay attention to the modifying composition; teachers theory of modifying and the level of practice is not high; the lack of teaching time and teaching materials etc.Base on the problems of the research and combined with the theoretical research achievements show that there are countermeasures and suggestions which are put forward from two aspects. In the level of students:change the attitudes and pay attention to the modifying; cultivate readers awareness and modifying ability; strengthen language knowledge and life experience accumulation, cultivate sense of language. In the level of teachers: pay attention to the modifying composition; teach students the knowledge and methods of the modifying composition; train the students'ability of modifying composition and habits. In limited teaching time, according to the analysis of students' situations of modifying composition and put strategies into effect, which proved strategies can improve the junior high school students' abilities of modifying composition.
