A Survey On The Present Situation Of Chemistry Extracurricular Activities In Mongolian Primary Middle School

Curriculum is the main carrier that schools achieve educational goals,ccurriculum implementation is one of the core ideas of the national basic education curriculum reform, also is the origin of the elements of curriculum.Rich and variety of chemistry extra-curricular activities including family small experiment, chemical exhibition, Chemistry Symposium, chemical party,chemistry lectures, chemistry contest, the chemistry visiting and so on.Because of rich extra-curricular activity resources in Chifeng of Inner Mongolia, we can carry out the chemistry extra-curricular activities with local characteristics according to the actual situation in the region, so as to develop regional advantages full and strengthen the awareness of teachers to develop extracurricular activities resources at the same time. This research has profound theoretical value and practical significance to promote the effective implementation of the Inner Mongolia area chemistry teaching and the new curriculum reform in Chifeng.This study applies literature survey method on the summary of the recent developments and meaning of the research. Based on the constructivism theory and chemistry curriculum standard, the concept of curriculum is briefly defined. The following conclusions are drawn from survey:(1)70% of the teachers and 52% of the students said they had not carried out extracurricular activities about chemistry with the characteristics of Mongolia and 61% of the teachers and 68% of the students thought it was necessary to add some extracurricular activities about chemistry with the characteristics of Mongolia nationality. The teachers and students had the same point on carrying out extracurricular activities about chemistry with the characteristics of Mongolia nationality.(2)86% of the teachers said that the group as a unit to carry out chemical extracurricular activities is the most appropriate,but only 47% of the students said they like to carry out activities in the form of group cooperation,so we can see that teachers and students are not consistent with the idea of organizing chemistry extracurricular activities.(3) Most teachers say that it is safe to pay attention to the students' safety when they carry out the extracurricular activities, a small number of teachers said that the development of chemistry extracurricular activities will improve students' learning interest and practical ability.(4) 81% of the students said it was a pleasure to take part in the extracurricular activities, 5% of the students said it was a nuisance to take part in the extracurricular activities. The other students said chemical extracurricular activities is a have to do. Thus it can be seen that most students like to take part in the chemistry extracurricular activities.(5)Most students said chemical after-school activities help improve their operational ability, the other students said chemical after-school activities help to improve communication ability and self evaluation performance.Finally, give reasonable suggestions to the chemical after-school activities with Mongolian characteristics of utilization of resources from perfecting management system, paying attention to management design,optimizing Teachers' guidance and so. And with the junior high school chemistry content <Change and nature of matter > and < Cherish water resources > for example designed two chemistry extracurricular activity teaching case which has the characteristic of Mongolia. And discuss the deficiency of the research and future development trend of the subject. Wish this research can provide reference to junior high school to carry out chemical after-school activities with Mongolian characteristics.
