The English reading teaching cultivates the students' reading capacity,which influences comprehensive language ability. It occupies an important position in senior high school English teaching. But influenced by the traditional teaching concept for a long time, people's understanding of English Reading Teaching is relatively narrow. Limited teaching methods are used, together with simple and one-sided evaluation. The traditional approach to reading teaching aims at language and test, but not strategy and ability; So it can not help the students to form a good reading ability. In the modern society, we should put forward higher requirements to the teaching of English reading in senior high school.The guided learning plan is based on the requirement of the "new curriculum standard", in order to promote the students' comprehensive capacity as the objective, to focus on drilling students' innovative spirit and practical capacity, to put the efficient classroom reform as the breakthrough point, promote the fundamental changes of teaching methods and ways of learning.The guided learning plan is compiled by teachers to lead students to study and explore autonomously. Guided learning plan's basic content including: learning objectives, guiding learning, communication and discussion, in-class consolidation, expand the extension after class and afterclass reflection. The guided learning plan teaching model is based on Constructivism Learning Theory and Autonomous Learning Theory, the students are under the leading of teachers, regarding the guided learning plan as the carrier to carry out autonomous learning and active exploration,to change the passive study into active study, to form students' innovation awareness, and ultimately change the study method. In this study, the author puts this kind of teaching mode into the English reading teaching and carries out the teaching experiment in No.6 Middle School in Hohhot.Questionnaire surveys and interviews are also implemented. A large amount of data is collected in the experiment, and hopes that through scientific data analysis to test the teaching mode is whether adapted to the English reading teaching, whether can promote high school students' English reading capacity.After a semester of experimental study, it is found that the teachers' and students' concept have changed. In guided learning plan teaching mode,the average reading score of EC rises from 16.61 to 19.08, which is higher than CC about 2 points. The experimental class' standard deviation is 10.11 and the control class' is 12.89. The P-value is 0.03. After the experiment,81% of the students are more interested in reading class than before and over 90% of the students can use reading skills and strategies consciously to improve reading scores, whose inquiry ability is also improved. The results demonstrate that the guided learning plan has a positive effect on senior highschool English reading teaching, verifying the hypothesis of the research.
