In 2011,the ministry of education issued "English curriculum standard for compulsory education", the basic idea of which courses refers that "English of compulsory education stage should be faced to the needs of all students, manifesting that the student is the main body.Teachers should consider the demand of all students in the development and utilization of teaching target, teaching content, teaching process, teaching evaluation and teaching resources ". In this background, According to primary school students' characteristics of age and actual teaching situation,the article put forward the use of game-based teaching in primary school English class.This article adopts the method of combining literature research and questionnaire survey, surveying the situation of daily and attitudes and needs of the English game-based teaching,the situation of using English game-based teaching, the application effect of game game-based teaching. Then we found the problems existing in the teaching process and analysis of these problems, and then according to the problem we put forward the corresponding implementation strategy. It provides the certain reference significance for improving the situation of game-based teaching, and improving the effect of the application of game-based teaching.This article writes from six aspects: the first chapter is the introduction part, mainly on the research background, research purpose and significance, research status, research ideas and methods. The second chapter is mainly related concepts and theoretical basis of game-based teaching, it describes the related concepts and theoretical basis in detail. The third chapter is the investigation and characterization of present situation of game-based teaching,and it surveyed the attitudes and needs of the English game teaching,the situation of using English game teaching, the application effect of game-based teaching mainly by the method of questionnaire.At the same time,it surveyed teachers' education and employment, teachers' understanding and recognition of the game-based teaching, have investigated the current situation of the game-based teaching development by interview method. The fourth chapter analysis the existed problems and the reasons of these problems. The fifth chapter aims at finding teaching implementation strategies to solve these problems:Relevant departments should organize and conduct the related training of game-based teaching;Create network project site of primary school English's game-based teaching;Schools should actively guide and support the development of game-based teaching of primary school English;Teachers should improve their information literacy, and improve the ability of obtaining information; Revising comprehensive game-based teaching's evaluation standard scientifically. The sixth chapter summarizes the main research results, points out the deficiency and the future direction of research.
