College students' professional capacity of practice is a major component of their practical ablities. Though institutions of higher learning in our country have made tremendous progress in PE undertaking, the cultivation of students' professional capacity of practice still have a distance from satisfaction. Many issues still exist in the course of cultivating talents majoring in PE, such as, rigid method, discordant situation between objective and mode of education, distracting from the real demand of sociaty, the theory and practice, weak practice and so on and so forth. That how to cultivate the professional capacity of practice of students majoring in PE is a new task for the PE faculty of Institutions of Higher Learning. PE is a major of developing practical talents in its owm domain. Students cultivated by it are required not only excellent moral and PE teaching capacities, but also the other functional PE abilities of social PE, event organization, supervisory and judgement of contests. In order to fulfill it in an all-round way, institutions of higher learning, in their course of cultivating the professional capacity of practice of students majoring in PE, should fully put theory into practice, and continuously tests, consolidate the theory and make it profound. As for this reason, the “study on the current practical capacity of students majoring in physical education of institutions of higher learning”, based on systemetic analysis of the current situation cultivation of students majoring in PE of institutions of higher learning, is to form a new set of methods to cultivate talents and provide guidlines for institutions of higher learning to create their ways of developing innovative talents and increase their students' prefessional practical capacity.This thesis, based on literature information, questionnaire survey, professors' interview and mathematical statistics and logic analysis, etc., systematically investigates and analyses the culivation of the practical capacity of students majoring in physical education of institutions of higher learning, finding out issues in it and major factors influencing its development and putting forward corresponding suggestions as follows:The professional practical capacity of students majoring in PE is composed of many comprehensive qualities. Such capacity is a must for both the completion PE teaching and cultivating the key capacity of students' s majoring in PE. Intensifing the professional practical capacity of students majoring in PE is of theoretical and practical importance, which will promote the professional subject construction, raise teaching level and develop PE faculty of various levels.This thesis, based on the basic understanding of practice, capacity and profession, defines the professional practical capacity as the presentation and application of various capacities through practice. This thesis, depended on the essential knowledge, consludes four characteristics of professional practical capacity as patterns of experience, situation, development and individuality.This analyses the professional practical capacity from different dimensions and levels and sets forth initial understanding about it. The professional practical capacity of students majoring in PE is made up of general, moral education and professional practical capacity, among which general capacity is the basis, moral education capacity is a guide, professional practice is a core capacity. These three are inseperable, they all constitute the professional practical capacity of students majoring in PE.In order well manifests the professional practical capacity of students majoring in PE, this thesis curiously filtrates indicators of all levels, and establishes 3 first-class, 14 second-class and 36 third-class indicators, which constitutes the initial stucture of indicator system of evaluation.Many students majoring in PE have correct understanding of the professional practical capacity, they clearly know which it is very important for their work in the future. They as a whole are not satisfied with their own professional practical capacities, which is caused by their weak self-evaluation or poor strict requirment of themselves. Meanwhile, poor satisfaction reflects that they still have large space to improve their professional practical capacities. On the whole, students, based on the real facts, can have an objective and practical self-evaluation.There are 3 basic features of the professional practical capacity of students majoring in PE. The first is the general practical capacity. Students do well in learning and expression, but have poor general practical capacity only through self-exploration, which reflects the weak cultivation. The second is the moral education capacity. They have high capacity of teaching and morality, and are qualified as teachers. Their capacity of management and cultivation talents is influenced by subjective igonorance, plus to few opportunities of objective learning and practice. The last is the professional practical capacity. They as a whole have good understanding of theoretical knowledge and professional tecniques but weak professional capacity of application.This thesis, through deep discussion, concludes major reasons for students' s unsatisfactory professional practical capacity, such as, little emphasis of colleges on cultivation of students' professional practical capacity, singal mode of teaching, irrational subject course, conventional content, few opportunities of intership and practice and ineffective assessment and evaluation system. Suggestions are as follows:The professional practical capacity, for students majoring in PE, is not only the core competetion capacity, but also the basic ability for their work in the future. Therefore, institutions of higher learning and colleges should shift their conceptions and further intensifies the quality of professional practical capacity, for students majoring in PE. That requires them to lay stress on capacity in their teaching and make cultivation of professional practical capacitycommon, which is essential to develop colledge majors and improve students abilities.Target is both the starting and ending points of practice. To establish the target system of professional practical capacity is vital to develop students' professional practical capacity. With the target, all physical activities are surrounding it, which is beneficial to innitiate knowledge, develop skills and raise ability. That will promotes the full development of students' professional practical capacity, so as to make them become qualified talents of this century.It is a long-lasting and systematic course to establish the mode of cultivation of the professional practical capacity of students majoring in PE. Base on scientific and an systematic theory and principal of cultivation of students' capacity in the process from planning to implementation, linking theory with practice, formulating effective methods and rational mode, to improve students' professional practical capacity in the course of cultivation and form the mode of “cultivation-practice-recultivation-repractice”.Class teaching is crutial to improve students' professional practical capacity, the content and method of which should be optimized. To essentially change the conventional mode of class teaching by providing situation of practice for students, improving their ability to deal with problems and optimizing the quality of class teaching.To break convention and shift the course from closed pettern to an open form. To make sure that the course installment basically accord with social demends through depending on the principal of installment, social demend, adjusting its kinds and contents and increasing courses matching students self-demands.In order to better manifect the stimulus, guide and supervision function of evaluation of professional practical capacity, a comprehensive evaluation system should be strictly established and then improved by and by to evalute students timely and rationally in an all-round way, catching up with the requirment of the century and realizing cultivation of students professional practical capacity.
