United States is not only a developed country,but also the educational power.The development of Vocational Education in American occupies an important position in the history of the world.After the 21 st century,under the influence of lifelong learning and Career Education,United States launched constant reforms and practices.Based on the “Carl Perkins career and technical education improvement Act”,Career and Technical Education developed a project-oriented strategy,not only meeting the demand for high quality and high skilled person in the knowledge economy,but also prepare for the student career.In recent years,Vocational Education into General Education becomes the focus of education reform and development in China,in particular the “national plan for medium and long term education reform and development(2010-2020)” pointed out in high school Vocational Education should be provided to facilitate integration of General Education and Vocational Education,aimed at forming a General Education system with Chinese characteristics.Therefore,use education experience of developed countries like USA for reference,to promote General Education and Vocational Education integration in our country.This study focuses on American Career and Technical Education pathways for the basic idea and uses the main implementation of strategy-project production as the main line.This study uses literature,case study,comparison methods,and explains its content from five aspects:The first part is an introduction.Describes the source of the problem;defines the core concepts;combed the literature review;and illustrate the ideas and methods of the study.The second part introduces the implementation basis of Career and Technical Education in USA,including the core legislation and standards of Career and Technical Education.The third part describes the implementation status of Career and Technical Education in America.First of all,introduces the involvement of Career and Technical Education,including source of students and selection of course;Secondly,introduces the implementation organizations and forms of the Career and Technical Education;Finally,elaborates safeguard mechanism of the Career and Technical Education,including funds and evaluation.The forth part uses the Green Program of Study as a case study,surrounding Green Program of Study's aims and contents,implementation strategy and self-assessment mechanism to discuss three aspects.The fifth part analyses the implement process of the Career and Technical Education in America,summarizing five characteristics of Career and Technical Education.The sixth part puts forward four suggestions to our country's integrating of General Education and Vocational Education,according to the existing problems of our country and the American's successful experience of the Career and Technical Education.
