With the continuous improvement of China's comprehensive national streng th and increasing degree of social civilization, also coincided with the time tha t the country is vigorously prompting national fitness campaign, the upsurge of nationwide physical fitness campaign continues to rise. Under this context, spr eading scientific and effective exercise methods has become an arduous task fo r our prospective sports practitioners.Based on data obtained from experiments on overweight men, who are div ided into different groups for training, this thesis compares the effects of two different ways of weight losing:one is to do High-Intensity Interval Training,the other is to do aerobic exercise for long time?And analysis on the collecte d statistics will show the obese males which way is more effective for weight losing,so as to provide them with more scientific and effective reference.By utilizing the method of documentary, experimentation, mathematical stat istics etc., sixty obese males are randomly divided into two groups-----group of high-intensity interval training and group of long staying aerobic exercises. In the experiments, the subjects are guided to undergo a training program for se ven weeks, through either of the above mentioned exercise methods, aimed at comparing the effect of those two methods on controlling the percentage of bo dy fat and on improving health-related physical fitness of obese males.Through the seven-week training, the changes of each physiological index and physical fitness factors of the subjects are shown as follows:1. Weight, BMI, Percentage of body fat:Subjects in both groups improves obviously in these indices after finishing the exercise experiment and the changes have extremely significant differences(P<0.01).WHR: Obvious improvement can be seen in the group of High-Intensity I nterval Training after experiment alongside with extremely significant differences; the group of long-time aerobic exercises shows some improvements as well after training and has significant differences. The training effect on group of H igh-Intensity Interval Training is more obvious than group of long staying aero bic exercises and has significant differences in the percentage of body fat(P<0.05).2. Cardiac and pulmonary fitness level:The Cardiac and pulmonary fitness level of both experimental groups signi ficantly improves after respective training program and demonstrates extremely significant differences(P<0.01). The training effect on high-intensity interval tra ining group is more obvious than group of long time aerobic exercises and has extremely significant differences(P<0.01).3. Flexible Fitness Levels:The Flexible Fitness Levels of the two groups both improved significantly after experiment and both have extremely significant differences(P<0.01), but little differences exist between the training effects of the two groups and ther e are no significant differences(P>0.05).4. Muscle Fitness Levels:The Muscle Fitness Levels of both groups show certain improvements afte r respective exercise experiments, but the extremely significant difference only appears in group of High-Intensity Interval training(P<0.01). This implies that High-Intensity Interval training method is more remarkable in enhancing muscle fitness level, evidenced by demonstrating an extremely significant difference(P<0.01).Conclusion:(1)The two types of exercise have a significant weight loss effect on male obese subjects.But in contrast,the high intensity interval training is more obvio us in reducing body fat.(2)In the improvement effects on weight,BMI,WHR,body fat content,althou gh there is no significant changes in the first three indexes,the remarkable cha nges in body fat content indicate that the effect of weight loss on high intensity interval training is better.(3)As for the improvement effects on heart lung fitness, flexibility and mu scle strength,there is significant improvements on heart lung fitness and muscle strength and little improvements on flexibility.
