Comparative Study On The Citizen Awareness Education In Universities Between China And America

In recent years,the civic awareness has widely been paid attention.To develop the citizen awareness education and cultivate the citizen who is adapt the development of society is arising the great concern from various circles of society.So far,the civic awareness education has been included as an important part of school education.In order to accelerate the process of China's socialist modernization,building a better society ruled by law,promoting national political civilization,improving the quality of citizens,it is imperative to strengthen the education of civic awareness.As the most important education system of new era,college should provide talents for socialist construction task,not only to cultivate a high level of knowledge of talent,but also to train a group of citizens who have a high morality and democratic spirit of the rule of law,to actively participate in the country's political,economic and social life,in addition they can make the society become better and better.Therefore,to strengthen the civic awareness education is a priority task of the modern ideological and political education in our country.The civic awareness education in America started early,its theory,the way and method has been fully developed.The civic awareness education in Chinese universities started late,so it has not formed a complete education system.There is a big different in political system,history and culture between China and America through the course of the civic awareness education,there are a lot of their own country characteristics,but also have some common values embodied human civilization.Therefore,to analysis the experiences of the American civic awareness education,to explore the regularity,combined with China's national conditions,the history and the culture,after that forming the system of civic awareness education with Chinese characteristics,Universities,it has a great reality significance for the civic awareness education in our country's universities.In this thesis,according to the analysis of the current civic awareness situation in the universities students,and to analysis the current situation of the universities civic awareness education.To compare the contents,the methods and the ways of the civic awareness education in two countries' universities.What's more is to analysis the similarities and differences between two countries,consequently to analysis the experiences which are beneficial for us of the civic awareness education in American Universities.Seeking the methods and ways which can complete our civic awareness education system.This thesis is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction of the purpose and meaning,value and innovation of the paper.The second chapter is defined the relevant concepts of citizenship,civic awareness and civic awareness education.The third chapter is the current situation of the civic awareness education in American Universities and Chinese Universities.This chapter mainly discussed the current situation of the college students and the current situation of the civic awareness education in two countries.The chapter IV is the comparison of the civic awareness education between the Chinese Universities and American Universities Chapter citizenship.This chapter is compare the content,methods and ways of the civic awareness education between the two counteries,then to analysis the advantages and disadvantages of the two countries' education,it is build the foundation of the next part.The final chapter of the Perfection of citizenship education measures,draw outstanding experience from the civic awareness education in American universities,and combined our current situation,therefore we can get the measures which can perfect the civic awareness education system in our universities.The first measure is establishing the complete education system,perfecting the content of civic awareness education.To set up an education system which is combined by society,college and family.Secondly innovative the ways of the civic awareness education,pay attention to implicit education,combine the self-education methods and teaching methods.
