In psychology,self-awareness is an important indicator to measure human's mental health.In fact,self-awareness of students in high school is closely related to their mental health,in simple terms,the higher the level of self-awareness of high school students,the higher the level of mental health,the less psychological crisis and problems.The mental health of students in high school has long been the focus of the society.The students in this stage are gradually from immature to mature rapidly,and there could be a sharp change both in physical and mental.This initiates a series of problems easily in the development of self-awareness,and even lead to some mental crisis.Accordingly,it is necessary to intervene students' self-awareness in senior two,and if the effective intervention measures of mental health can be explored,it must be of great significance to mental health education in high school.Based in Nanchang No.19 senior two students' mental health level,aimed to know the effectiveness of the group psychology counseling to senior two students' improvement in self-awareness,and to explore ways to improve the self-awareness of the students of grade two in high school initially.Through Children's self consciousness scale to confirm main problems of high school students in grade two,and to formulate specific group psychology counseling scheme pointed at students' existed problems in the dimensions of anxiety,gregariousness,happiness and satisfaction,etc.Then by that can help the students to improve their self-awareness level.Through adopting the experimental group,the control group and pretest,posttest designing.The experimental results show that:(1)Before group psychology counseling,there was no significant difference between experimental group and the control group in behavior,intelligence and school,physical appearance and properties,anxiety,gregariousness and happiness dimensions(P > 0.05);(2)After two month's group psychology counseling,there was a significant difference in experiment group between pretest and posttest in intelligence andschool,physical appearance and properties,gregarious,happiness dimensions and total points(P < 0.05),and there was still no significant difference(P > 0.05)in the two dimensions of anxiety and behavior,but the dimensional level was increased slightly;(3)Compared the experimental results between posttest and tracking test in experimental group,it was found that except the dimension of happiness and satisfaction decline significantly,though other dimensions and total points also declined but not in significance.Research conclusions:(1)the group psychology counseling of self-awareness theme can help to improve the level of senior two students' self-awareness level;(2)The improvement of self-awareness of students in senior two will be a long-term,systematic group psychology counseling process.
