The ability of self-awareness plays an important role and has a far-reaching influence on the development of people's mental health.This study was conducted to investigate the effects of group counseling on self-awareness of second-grade students in primary school.Through a 9-week group counseling intervention course,to promote and optimize the self-awareness of second grade students in primary school,to provide reference for mental health education in school.This research use of literature analysis to self-awareness and group counseling related theories to sort out the formation of the basic ideas of research.The self-awareness of second grade students in S primary school in Shenyang city was investigated by questionnaire and interview.Under the guidance of the Outline of Mental Health Guidance in Primary and Secondary Schools,based on the theories of self-cognition and group counseling,Design self-awareness group counseling program,screening homogeneity of two classes as experimental class and control class for experimental intervention research.Normal mental health education courses were conducted in the control class,and self-awareness group counseling intervention program was implemented in the experimental class.Each class lasted about 35 minutes,a total of 9 weeks.The data of the experimental class and the control class were statistically analyzed after the experiment.The following conclusions are drawn:First,after the experimental class students in group counseling intervention,primary school student self-awareness ability questionnaire scores,the total score and the scores of each dimension there are differences.Second,there was no significant difference in self-cognition between the pre-test and post-test results of primary school students and the general status of self-recognition.Third,the effect of group counseling on self-awareness ability of second grade students is significant,and the effect can be sustained in a short time.The study found that through group counseling,significantly improve the level of self-awareness of second-grade students in Shenyang S primary school,which shows that group counseling has a good role in promoting self-awareness.Finally,from the school,family and other aspects of self-awareness of primary school students put forward countermeasures and suggestions:1.Parents lead their children to establish a correct self-awareness;2.To cultivate students self-awareness in the educational practice;3.home-school cooperation promotes the development of students self-awareness.
