College students take part in the university administration is a tendency adapting to the reform of the world higher education, which accords with the requirements of higher education reform in China, and also meets the needs of the college administration. There are many studies on this issue among the scholars at abroad and home, and they make some progress, for example, forming an agreement that the undergraduates participate in the college administration is extremely necessary and important. The foreign scholars' theoretical studies promote the practices of university administration, which contributes many influential research results.However, domestic scholars' studies mostly focus on theoretical analysis on the situation and problems of the college students participating in the university administration, which makes little progress for guiding the practices. Therefore, based on above background, the author adopts following methods:literature research method and social survey method. The author chooses H University as the research object, and explores the current situation that the undergraduates takes part in the university administration from the perspective of cognition, behavior, environment, and effects of the colleges' participation in order to study the problems and influence factors existing in this administration. The author also puts forward some strategies and suggestions in terms of following aspects: improving the college students' awareness of participation administration; making clear the management contents and levels; normalizing the participation manners and optimizing the participation environment.The major findings of the study are presented as following parts: first, in the aspect of participation cognition, the college students lack of the understandings and awareness; second, in terms of participation behavior, the number of active participants is small owning to various reasons and contents are simple; third, in environmental aspect, lacking the systematic rules, much teachers' intervention and insufficient funds. These all cause the effects that college students participates in the university administration are much lower that the expected.The macro and micro factors will be analyzed in this thesis. The macro factors are traditional concepts' constraints and the shortage of realization rules, the barriers of management system of universities' administration and bureaucratism. Through the empirical analyzing, the micro factors are the student leaders; the family's monthly income, professional background, political status and academic performance and so on.Therefore, based on the the practical and theoretical university administration in China, and taking in foreign successful experiences, the author studies the how to improve the effects of the college students' participation in the university administration form the aspects of raising awareness, clearing the contents and levels, normalizing the administrative manners and optimizing management environment. Grounding from above studies, the author gives some advice: playing a role of “fine examples”; educating all the students and constructing the atmosphere; raising consciousness and ability of the college students; making clear the matters of the teaching and learning, logistics, administration; implying the participation manners of model “top-to-bottom and bottom-to-top”; building the college supervision system; improving the regulation; increasing the funds. These are used for optimizing the participation environment for the college students.
