In Today's study of history, we have witnessed wave after wave of various of new theories which have great impacts on historical research.. Among the many new academic thoughts, the "new cultural history" after nearly half a century of development, has formed a kind of academic climate can not be ignored. The "new cultural history" emphasizes the cultural logic or cultural code, this kind of historical consciousness has wide applicability, in political and cultural history, economic history of culture, social cultural history, ideological and cultural history, it had played an unique role on the explaining of historical changing.This new view of the new theory has opened up a vast garden, given the current domestic history research to a broad and deep effect. So from the perspective of the "new cultural history" is concerned with contemporary middle school history teaching, having contribution on theory innovation and the practice of reform, also has important theoretical and practical significance. This paper is composed of five parts, the review-part introduce both research results and weak points of the "new cultural history", exploring the significance and value from a new perspective of the study of the "new cultural history" and the teaching of history.Chapter 1 makes a review and evaluation on contemporary history "cultural turn", the concrete content includes the "new cultural history" rise, representatives and classics, the spread and impact on domestic research; in the second chapter, from the point of view of the "new cultural history",exploring the enlightenment in high school history teaching; Chapter 3 selected specific cases of middle school teaching-- the Opium War, trying from the perspective of the "new cultural history" to meet the new interpretation of history teaching in middle school. The conclusion part is a summary of the paper, highlight the "new cultural history" theory can provide new ideas, new methods and new inspiration for the current high school history teaching.
