Research On The Transformation Of Local Universities In Henan Province

Higher education plays an important role in Chinese education system, talents and settings of higher education influence and promote social development quickly. Education should be modernization, and considers with future. Education should follow social changes. Nowadays the development of social economic is quick, industrial changes are quick, the competition between one industry and another industry is fiercer than ever. In order to adjust social trend, higher education should make some changes based on its original structure. With social development, schools adjust theories on school management and goals of education. It can not only cultivate academic talents, but also pay more attention to applied talents. In order to cultivate high-quality applied talents which are needed by economic, and ease conflict of employ structure of college graduates in Henan. Henan province positively appeal for national policies that transforming applied talents, developing higher vocational education. On January 2013, Henan province started experimental work of transforming colleges, and decided 5 colleges as the first experimental schools, including Huanghuai college, Luoyang college of science and technology and Xuchang college, Huanghe technical college and Anyang engineering college.This paper has five chapters. The first chapter is introduction which describes background, targets, main objects, content, research methods, innovation, weakness and theoretical bases, this chapter also collects and arranges documents about transformation development of local universities and colleges in China, especially Henan province, which are collected from documents in libraries and on the Internet. It gives more evidence to the paper and supports viewpoints of this paper. The second chapter discusses current situation and problems of local colleges in Henan province which contains five aspects: the background of local colleges in Henan, type and area coverage of education, qualified teachers, settings of professional courses, management system. Existed problems of local colleges are: unclear position of colleges, unclear service area, settings of professional courses can not meet the demand of development of regional economic, unreasonable introduction of teachers, promotion system is not scientific, imperfect management system. The analysis on methods of transformation of local universities in Henan Province is presented in the third chapter. Why they want to change? What is the base of their transformation? For these problems, the author proposes the common idea of transformation of local colleges in Henna: according to the demand of development of social economic, adjustment of educational structure, promotion of manpower resource's structure, implementing national policies, so the common methods of transformation of local colleges in Henan are: clearing positions and cultivation of education, arranging majors and courses with the direction of regional development and industrial development, consolidate the structure of teacher group, establishing scientific promotion system and introduction system, perfect training system, reforming management system. The main strategies of transformation of local universities in Henan province are presented in the forth chapter. Some suggestions which may promote the process of transformation are proposed from three different aspects: government, universities and corporations.All in all, the author does some researches on the issue of transformation of local universities in Henan, analyzes the possibility and necessity of development and transformation of local universities which are based on the existing problems, proposes several strategic choices about the development and transformation. The author hopes that the achievement can make some contribution to the transformation of local universities in Henan. As the times goes by, the structure of higher education will optimize its settings and have a better future.
