The elementary education plays an important role in national education.In order to make the elementary education of the country to have a better development in the context of globalization,and to enhance the competitiveness of the country's elementary education,the UK began to implementation the free school policy in 2010,and the policy have played a very positive role in alleviating a range of problems which exist in the British public school at the time.Free schools in the UK advocate empowering schools,giving parents more educational choice,encouraging schools to be diversify distinctive development,and have a private management model in public schools.The government takes many safeguard measures at the same time,such as strengthen the policy support financial support and quality control.British free schools injected fresh blood into the British public school system,at the same time,people regain their confidence and trust to the basic education in their country.The study is divided into six sections.In the first section,questions raised,this section explains the reasons for the free school policy,next this study makes a definition of free schools,British free schools and school autonomy,then analysis the relevant literature about free schools,sorting out the literature review about British free schools.In the final of this section,elaborate research purpose,significance,research ideas and research methods of the study.In section two,this study analysis why free schools are created from analyzing several backgrounds,and makes a detailed analysis of the current development of the British free schools.In section three,the study analysis policy document about free schools published by British government,to have an interpretation to the British Government's free school policy.In section four,the study summarizes the school-running characteristics of free schools in UK based on the all above.In section five,the study analysis the measures the British government took to ensure the healthy development of free schools.In section six,first the study analysis the current development and disadvantages of the characteristic schools in our country,combing with the experiments of British freeschools,then makes some enlightenment to the development of characteristic schools in our country.
