Based on the research of modern art appreciation from high school students, inspired by the theory of Leo stein berg and Timothy James Clark, this paper analyzed the feeling of high school students during modern art appreciation.Compare with Clark's aesthetic process, the high school students only have an incomplete process with different aesthetic feelings. The main reason is that they do not have much knowledge on art history, art theory and lack of aesthetic experience. The research indicated that Meyer Schapiro's aesthetic criticism method is now recognized as an important access entry in the solution of this confusion. Moreover, it established a new method suitable for high school students. In addition, the art appreciation class has turned to be more interesting and students had better understanding and deeper feeling.Yet there are still a lot of remaining issues for high school art education on modern art appreciation. Within the given time and resources, this research was suitable for academic purpose.
