Teaching evaluation, which is a significant way to promote as well as develop students and teachers, plays a key role in improving the teaching quality and provides an important guarantee for the implementation of the new curriculum. Current research on calligraphy teaching in primary schools is still rather scanty, and an in-depth teaching and research of calligraphy education cannot be conducted without examination and evaluation. Although the implementation of basic calligraphy education is carried out around the country, calligraphy subjects are doomed to be marginalized for the lack of teaching evaluation scale.With the deepening of the new curriculum reform and constant improvement of the evaluation system, research projects on "evaluation" are gradually enriched. Teaching evaluation is not only an indispensable part of the integral course structure l, but also an important part of teaching activities so that it deserves sufficient attention. Only calligraphy discipline, especially the research on calligraphy Education Evaluation in the Primary schools is relatively scarce. Especially after the implementation of the new curriculum, elementary calligraphy teaching evaluation system is still absent, then how to perfect and improve on this basis? In order to improve the state quo of calligraphy teaching evaluation for Primary schools, the majority of the Primary calligraphy educators try to implement calligraphy teaching evaluation for Primary schools, but still no great breakthrough exists. Researches in the field of calligraphy teaching evaluation for Primary schools is still a very weak link in teaching in our country which is still unsatisfactory. Therefore, the teaching evaluation study of calligraphy courses in primary schools has practical significance.This paper, starting from the background of the new curriculum reform, taking the real case as evidence and the theoretical construction as its foundation to conduct a empirical research aiming at expose the status of the teaching evaluation of elementary calligraphy subjects. The main part of this study takes the X Primary school’s calligraphy teaching evaluation as its actual research support, using lectures observation, interviews and questionnaires and other methods to obtain empirical basis, to learn more about the basic situation of X Primary school’s calligraphy teaching under the New Curriculum background so as to find out its deficiencies at the evaluation content, evaluation criteria and evaluation methods. Base on that, this dissertation analyzes the forming factors of the existing problems and provides a practical strategy for the actual current situation. Exploration on Renewal Strategy of primary school’s calligraphy teaching evaluation under the new curriculum background and its promoted concepts is to provide our frontline educators a reliable reference.
