With the increasing of input by government on the handicapped and the professional social work services carried out in various regions, the disable are destined to obtain more social concerns. As intellectual disability persons are one of pieces of the handicapped, they have same needs with the able-bodied persons, the developments of social skills practice can benefit their satisfaction of wants, enhancement of ability and the prevention of risks, what's more, it helps the intellectual disability persons return to society and integrate into society better.By reading and sorting out related articles, the author summarizes the literature in three aspects: the energized theory, studies on the handicapped of social skills, the interposition of social work on the promotion of the intellectual disability persons' social skill. There exists few studies by using social methods to enhance the social skills. The study is based on the service practices of the Y sunshine home, social workers pick up 8 persons who receive day care services to be the service objects and combine several methods to conduct the need assessment: participatory observation, a dozen times of open-ended interviews, help the members to complete the questionnaires. Under the guidance of the Energized Theory, in order to promote the social skills of intellectual disability persons, social workers conduct group activities in three aspects: enhancement of egression skills, promotion of interpersonal relationship, improvement of external environment. The author carries out the activities by using a combination of games, sharing, theme activities and records the process of activities preciously. The author detects the effectiveness of service by using evaluation, we can sight the intervention effect through the changes of social skills by the process evaluation and result evaluation, the process evaluation mainly concludes activities significance, the satisfaction of form, willingness to participate, the result evaluation is conducted in three aspects: egression skills, interpersonal relationship, external environment.By evaluating the service practices, the intervention effect makes it clear that group activities can actualize the intellectual disability persons? developments of social skills, group work can be an effective way to promote the social skills, it needs kinds of means to conduct the need assessment. The author also brings summaries and discussions into the service practice in order to offer some concrete suggestions when social workers launch group activities.
