With China's rapid economic and social development, vocational education has developed rapidly according to the social needs with the support from the government policy. However, it has gradually become a heated issue during the development of vocational education while it does cultivate lots of qualified technicians. It is an unavoidable contradiction between high social demand and low social position, high employment rate and low employment quality as a “employment first” vocational education. Based on this situation, the author performed an intervention as a social work class into the career planning of the students of the vocational school. The service clients chosen by the author are sophomores of Electrical class from S school in Wuhan, based on needs assessment and use Ecological systems theory as a guide, carried out 17 social work classes with the theme of career planning. The social work classes were divided into 4 phases: micro system, to improve self-understanding;intermediate system, to analyze environment; external system, to explore career environment; macro system, to strengthen the awareness of rights protection. In the end, based on the summary and evaluation of the performed classes, the author reached the conclusion: first, to strengthen the awareness of rights protection, to get to know the career environment, and setting a career goal are actual needs of the secondary vocational students, social workers could help this out by intervention.Second, ecological system theory is a theory about individuals and the environment they live in, and how they interact and influence each other, which played an important role in the social works classes. Third, the social work class helped the secondary vocational students to solve problems and develop self potentials through class interactions, experiences and mutual support, to help achieving the service goals.Although the positive effectiveness is obvious, the author found the shortcomings ofthe social classes for the vocational students based on the ecological systems theory during the practice, that's the insufficient intervention on the family level and the difficulties in rights protection.
