City Right is an important research point to analyze spatial problems and explore solutions to them, which is a critical basis of reflecting and adjusting the development of urban civilization. Man's subjectivity always exists in a concrete dimension of self-expansion. From a spatial perspective, Man's subjectivity is embodied in their spatial relationship which takes the form of rights and interests in urban society. What's more, this kind of spatial relationship related to rights and interests is just the expression of City Right. With the development of Man's humanizing nature going deeper and deeper, especially the rapid development of urbanization in modern times, spatial problems are highlighted seriously. That urban spatial problems suppress the releasing of Man's subjectivity leads to the fail realization of City Right, which further hinders the healthy development of cities and people's self-realization. In this context, City Right became an important tool of theoretical analysis and practical guidance. This paper tries to generalize the research of City Right which has been already done by other scholars since spatial turn from different dimensions and aspects, and makes it clear what the concept of City Right means in this context. Then, four logical premise will be summarized for why City Right can be itself, which will provide solid foundation for the establishment of it. After that, functions and roles of City Right will be extracted and what it can do will also be discussed. In the end, with taking the present situation of urban civilization and social development in China into consideration, this paper tires to get some helpful inspiration to provide necessary basis for practical guidance of City Right.
