2014 Wuhan Open Organization And Operation Research

Wuhan Open is one of the WTA premier events. It is the highest level professional tennis tournament after China Open and Shanghai Masters in China. The event held in Wuhan, to speed up the internationalization of city construction, promote the development of sports industry in Wuhan has important strategic significance. Avail ourselves of this opportunity in Wuhan, according to the principle of "Government host, enterprises to undertake, market operation, society participation", to create the event organization operating subject — Wuhan sports development investment co., LTD(WHSDI). This study used questionnaire to deeply research the event organization and management personnel, and interview the event organization operation experts, combined with the Business Management, Competition Economics and other related theories, around the managing organizations and operation of Wuhan Open, design to the comprehensive analysis of the event organization structure design, team building, set up post responsibilities, system construction, and the direct and indirect economic benefit of the event. Giving some conclusion such as:(1) Type of the company was polybasic. The elements benefit the organization and operation of event.(2) The organizational structure of enterprises is the traditional linear system structure;(3) The design of functions and management range were reasonable, but the key functions were not prominent(4) Employees lack experience in operating large-scale events, the team is still in the construction phase;(5) The design of workflow needs to be improved;(6) The communication and coordination mechanism is still in the stage of "coordinated approach";(7) Lack of market resources development event, the proportion of revenue structure is unreasonable;(8)The direct economic benefit of the event is low than expected. The payments is imbalance;(9)The event developed the indirect economic benefit of the city. And some suggestions are put forward:(1) Enterprises should be based on the state-owned enterprise capital advantage, enhance market competitiveness;(2) Emphasis on job training, to strengthen the team building;(3) Perfecting the event organization structure design, and strengthen the system construction;(4) Increasing the method of market development, and improve operating income ratio.This study analyzed the managing organizations and operation of Wuhan Open, from strategy to benefit. It was targeted. It revealed the general law of events' managing organizations and operation. Not only for Wuhan Open and the main operation of the local government to provide scientific decision basis, also provides an important reference basis for the other professional events in China, to make them develop healthily. It has large application promotion value.
