Classic is the carrier of the inheritance of the human spirit, red classics was born in the specific historical period, is bearing the weight of the historical memory of the Chinese nation culture symbol, in inheriting the national spirit, carry forward the national culture, is irreplaceable positive significance. The future middle school students is the backbone of national development, is the backbone of the national construction. For the spirit of red classics cognition and comprehension, is for the growth of the middle school students have education significance. But in the current under the impact of commodity economy, exam-oriented education, etc, the spirit of the middle school students face a huge crisis. Investigation and research of this paper is aimed at the present youth value anomie, the lack of humanistic spirit, the present situation of the "red classics" has been gradually forgotten, selection of Yan 'an city middle school students as sample, in the situation of their reading classics, on the basis of investigation and statistics, the present situation analysis, then the present situation of the red classics reading for high school students specific assessment, and analyze the reasons, finally puts forward the feasible countermeasures and operational stronger, let red classics in the middle school students' humanistic literacy cultivation and growth of the education play a proper role in the process.The full text is divided into four parts:The first part of the definition of "classic" and "red classics" is defined, the first filtered through to the "classic" several definitions, to find in this article the definition of the word "red classics" the most suitable.
