This study puts “ Six Arts Curriculum ” of Bocai Boarding School(Yuelu District,Changsha)as the research subject.By analyzing the constitution and implementation process of “ Six Arts Curriculum ” system,this thesis explores how school can break the bottlenecks like lagging of curriculum function,deviation of curriculum operation and monotony of curriculum orientation based on students' key competencies(self-cultivation,social care and love,emotion of family-country,independent development,cooperation and participation,innovation and practice)and the actual situation in our school in tshe background of the globalization of curriculum reform and the deepening new curriculum reform in our country.The research aims to encourage students' comprehensive development,personality development and harmonious development in autonomous learning.It is intended to promote the teachers' happiness in the process of their professional growth and lead the school towards the path of connotation development of holistic curriculum constitution.According to the general principles of “ Six Arts Curriculum ” and by analyzing the meaning of the constitution of Bocai “Six Arts Curriculum”,it is clear that curriculum should not just care about the top students but everyone.And the curriculum should guide the students to develop independently in experience and also be concerned about the generation and prosperity of educational intention.Therefore,the arrangement and implementation of curriculum should pay attention to the complexity of life growth,the aestheticization ofeducation and the involvement of body in learning.This thesis puts forward four operating principles: Life Standpoint Principle,Culture Standpoint Principle,Child Standpoint Principle and Practice Standpoint Principle.Life Standpoint Principle includes: believe in the infiniteness of life,envisage the difference of life,focus on the independence of life;Culture Standpoint Principle emphasizes that there is some special culture in the curriculum including environmental culture,culture of share and culture of innovation;Child Standpoint Principle proposes that the curriculum should conform to the nature of children,integrate childrens' life and orient to the future of children;Practice Standpoint Principle indicates that the curriculum is not implemented but also generated in practice.Based on students' key competencies,this thesis tries to constitute the goal system of “Six Arts Curriculum”.Its general objective is to guide the students to step forward to the world and grow independently to become a better self.“Six Arts Curriculum”forms Three-level Curriculum:core curriculum,theme-based curriculum and individuality curriculum.“Six Arts Curriculum” further proposes six qualities of Bocai students: a good body,a good habit,a small hobby,a good hand,a good speaker and a good foreign language.It then puts forward three approaches of curriculum implementation:innovating curriculum based on inheritance,studying class from curriculum thought,promoting the generation of curriculum by employing the change of evaluation.The integration and synthesis of curriculum is the key as well as the difficulty in this study.This thesis triesto solve the problems of school-based implementation of core curriculum and the implementation of comprehensive practical course which aims at breaking the barriers between disciplines from the three perspectives:integration of disciplines,synthesis of disciplines and combination in and out of courses.It is intended to cultivate the students' perception of integrity and systematism of knowledge and develop their comprehensive ability.Curriculum evaluation system tries to connect the relationship between “Teaching-Learning-Evaluating”.It aims at facilitating evaluation by learning,guiding the implementation and rethinking the arrangement of curriculum by evaluation,which can diagnose and adjust the whole teaching process.It is hoped that the “Core-Theme-Personality” three-level interactive curriculum system,“ Experience-Free choiceBlank space ” three-discipline co-existing curriculum implementation and “ Teaching-Learning-Evaluating ” three-step connective evaluating system listed in this thesis have some reference value for curriculum theory study and have certain enlightenment for curriculum developers in other schools.
