The elementary school period is the important period of children's personality and social development.The healthy development of children' emotion plays an important role in promoting the cultivation of good character and the formation of harmonious interpersonal relationship.In recent years,more emotional problems which are obvious such as impulsion,anger,anxiety and so on have arisen in pupils.These issues have drawn the attention of the teachers and parents.This study is based on the social learning theory,rational emotional therapy theory and the theory of role.Through scale screening,interview assessment and the way recommended by teachers or parents,grade four and five primary school students whose emotional state are poorer in primary school called S in Fuzhou were selected as the research subjects.The paper' object:Social workers designed and implemented group work,and took advantage of the combination of taiji quan sport to improve the elementary students' emotional status,in order to achieve positive effect.The paper's method:according to the results of emotional intelligence scale(EIS),profile of mood state(POMS),team members' subjective assessment,observation of group members'behaviors and records for interview process,social workers made an evaluation of the group activity's process and result,then drew the following conclusions:1.On the basis of the test of the emotional scale before and after the activity,we found that emotional intelligence level of the group members were significantly increased;Tension,fatigue,anxiety,depression,anger and bad mood state were decreased significantly.At the same time they can keep a good positive state of mind.2.Through interviews,team members had a good knowledge of emotion,grasped the BaShi taijiquan,and formed a suitable emotion management method for themselves.They achieved the support and care from the group at the same time and obtained the impetus of self improvement.Therefore,the aim of improving emotion has been reached.3.Group members are satisfied with team activities,including the content,the form of group,the environment,and give high evaluation of the team workers'performance and attitude.In view of the feasibility and positive effect of the activity,I summarized some principles and techniques used in activity such as respect,individual,demonstration,encourage etc.,which can be used as reference for the emotional intervention;Finally,I discussed the advantages and disadvantages of the research,as the reference for the later similar research.
