The process of urbanization has been accelerating, and more and more rural families have entered the city, causing a serious loss of rural students. In order to avoid the waste of educational resources, the government proposed a withdrawal point and school policy, which also forced more students to choose boarding.Boarding pupils are longing for school, and family care is lacking,at the same time,if the teacher's education is inappropriate, they have difficulties and do not know how to solve it,there will be some low self-efficacy manifestations such as denying oneself, being confused and evading withdrawal. It is not conducive to the development of mental health and learning progress. Therefore, the author thinks that it is an important issue to pay attention to the self-efficacy of boarding pupils. In this study, students from the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades of X elementary school in Yuquan district of Hohhot were selected to investigate the status of self-efficacy in boarding primary school students.Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews and analyzed using SPSS.The results showed that the boarding school pupils' self-efficacy had a lower score than the middle level, and there was no significant grade difference. Therefore, the author selected fourth-year students to carry out services. The intervention of the group's work is mainly directed at the students' own factors, then design and implement service plans. Finally through the effect evaluation, the level of self-efficacy in the three dimensions of the experimental group was found to have increased. In particular, the general dimension of self-efficacy changes significantly. This shows that the intervention of group work has a positive effect on the self-efficacy of boarding pupils. At the same time,it can also provide some references for the practice of social work on this group of self-efficacy.
